Fadogia Agrestis

Fadogia Agrestis is a small bush shrub that can be found in many parts of Africa, including Nigeria and Ghana. It has traditionally been used to treat erectile dysfunction, hence the English alternative name ‘Black Aphrodisiac’.

Fadogia Agrestis contains various classes of nutrients, including alkaloids, saponins, anthraquinones and flavonoids, which provide numerous health benefits.

This plant has recently received an influx of popularity as it may also be able to increase testosterone production and accelerate muscle building.

Fadogia Agrestis is a plant commonly used in West African traditional medicine to enhance male fertility and as an aphrodisiac.

Although the specific mechanisms of how it works are not yet fully understood, it is believed that alkylamide glycosides in the plant may stimulate the release of luteinizing hormone (LH), promoting the production of testosterone. 

Additionally, Fadogia Agrestis may improve vasodilation and blood flow, contributing to its aphrodisiac effects.

While the constituents of the plant are not well defined, alkylamide glycosides are believed to be the active compounds responsible, previously identified in anacyclus pyrethrum.

Fadogia Agrestis is non-stimulatory, therefore doesn't have immediate effects like caffeine.
